The Maharashtra Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) coordination committee will meet on October 25 to discuss the Legislature Council elections to be held in December.
“The Congress and Nationalist Congress Party coordination committee would meet on Monday to discuss the Council polls,” the NCP state president Madhukar Pichad said after a day-long meeting with party chief and union agricultural minister Sharad Pawar on Sunday.
There are eight seats vacant from the Teachers constituencies and local body, and five of NCPs in the Council for which the polls are scheduled in the end of this year.
The NCP president also refused swapping of the Pune and Nanded seats for the elections.
The party sources said Chief minister Ashok Chavan wanted the Nanded seat by leaving Pune.
