Family members of the two brothers who were stabbed to death by six members of a family at their Sakinaka residence on Tuesday night allege that had the police booked the accused under stringent sections when they initially arrested them two days prior to the murders, the siblings would have been alive.

The Sakinaka police had arrested Sunil Sharma, 40, and his sister-in-law’s brothers Avinesh Rai, 26, and Brijesh Rai, 25, two days prior to the murders. The trio had beaten up a relative of the two brothers Avinesh, 27, and Ashish Singh, 22, over a parking dispute.
Anup Singh, a relative of the deceased, said, “While our uncle who had been attacked was still in the hospital, the trio had already been released on bail. The police should have booked them under harsher sections so that they would not have got bail as easily.”
