“Patil had a clean image. We found the vehicle, which was abandoned by the attackers, near Ambeshiv village on Eranjaad road, Badlapur,” said police inspector Pratap Mankar.
Patil, who is survived by his wife, two children and a brother, was earlier with the Shiv Sena, but he left the party after he became the Ulhasnagar Gramin Taluka Pramukh for the Congress.
