The Pant Nagar police have registered a case against MNS corporator Parmeshwar Kadam for allegedly assaulting his former driver because he suspected him of having an affair with his wife.
The police said Kadam had been arrested in March for attempting to murder Sachin Gaikwad over the same issue.
Kadam told the police that the allegations levelled against him are baseless.
On Friday, police said, Kadam and one of his accomplices stopped Gaikwad’s car near Kheda Nagar in Ghatkopar. Gaikwad said Kadam asked him why he was still in the area when he had been asked to leave and allegedly assaulted him.
“We are investigating the matter,” said Senior Inspector B. Suryavanshi. In March, Kadam called Gaikwad to Tilak Nagar and shot at him but the revolver got stuck, Gaikwad said.
