On April 24, HT had reported that the police had begun installing five CCTV cameras in and around Ambedkar Nagar slums after Angel Fernandes, 2, went missing on April 19 and then was found murdered.

Iqbal Shaikh, assistant commissioner of police, Colaba division, said, "We will install a total of 27 cameras and the spots would be selected on the basis of the vulnerability."

The cameras have night vision having coverage up to 50 metres. They also possess automatic zooming facility, which will help get clear footage.

Meanwhile, the police said they were relying on the DNA tests for getting a breakthrough in the case.

An officer from Cuffe Parade police station said around 60 persons had undergone DNA test in connection with the third incident alone, whereas almost 800 suspects were covered in all three cases.

With the investigation moving at snails pace, there are chances of police getting nothing against Angel's father Rajeev Sharma. "We found that Sharma was in his native in Uttar Pradesh as he has been claiming. He was there to attend a family weeding and had left Mumbai on April 17," Shaikh said.
