Cyclone Nilofar makes Mumbai cooler

According to India Meteorological Department, the cyclone is likely to move north-northwestwards, move towards the northeast, cross north Gujarat and the adjoining Pakistan coast by Friday morning.

With the “very severe” cyclone Nilofar hovering over the Arabian Sea, Mumbai will experience cooler weather for the next three days.

According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), the cyclone is likely to move north-northwestwards, move towards the northeast, cross north Gujarat and the adjoining Pakistan coast by Friday morning. The storm continued to bring rainfall in Konkan and Marathwada, while the skies in the city remained overcast.

The maximum temperature at Colaba was 30 degree Celsius, 3.2 degrees below normal, while at Santacruz, it was 29.5 degree Celsius, 3.7 degrees below normal. The minimum temperature at Colaba was 25.4 degree Celsius and 24 degree Celsius at Santacruz. The relative humidity at Colaba was 73% and 53% at Santacruz.

“Konkan and the neighbouring districts will receive rain till Wednesday, and the temperatures in the city will continue to be below normal,” said KS Hosalikar, deputy director-general, IMD, western region.
