Following the bomb blasts at the Bodh Gaya temple in Bihar, city-based representatives of socially-backward groups condemned the attack by staging protests in the city.

The Republican Party of India (RPI) held a rasta roko at Dahisar toll naka on the western express highway, causing a traffic jam.
Representatives of the party also torched the effigy of Union home minister Sushilkumar Shinde at Kalanagar in Bandra.
“Both the Union home ministry and the Bihar government were informed about the possibility of terror attack on Bodh Gaya in advance.
But they did not take any preventive measures,” said Ramdas Athwale, president of RPI while speaking to the media.
He demanded that security be beefed up across Buddhist pilgrim centers in the country and said that the RPI would hold protests at various places in the state.
Meanwhile, Republican Sena chief Anandraj Yashwant Ambedkar, while also condemning the attack, requested supporters to maintain law and order: “We have asked our supporters to condemn the attack by placing posters and banners in their residential colonies or localities and not resort to any protest rally.”
