The government is yet to decide whether it will accept the report prepared by the Bansal Committee that was set up to recommend fee regulations in private schools.

“The government was supposed to take a tentative decision by January 25. Nothing has happened so far,” said Dr Milind Wagh, secretary of the Forum Against Commercialisation of Education. “If they don’t hurry up then matters will get delayed for the next academic year as well,” Wagh added.

According to sources, the government is likely to ask the HC for an extension. “This is a complex issue and suggestions and objections from different parties have to be taken into consideration,” said the source requesting anonymity.
