‘Depressed’ Kurla homemaker hangs self

The Nehru Nagar police have registered a case of accidental death. Officials of the Nehru Nagar police station said that the deceased, Sonali Choudhary, might have been suffering from depression.

“Her labourer husband, Revannath, has no stable job, and though they were married for four years, they had no children,” said Senior Police Inspector P Kale.

“The stress of having to manage the household on a meagre income in addition to not having a child, could have led her to commit suicide,” added Kale.

“That’s what her husband and neighbours said during preliminary investigation.” Kale said.
Choudhary was found hanging inside her room by neighbours, who peeped in through the window when she did not open the door.

The police are also investigating if the couple had any disputes that could have led to her to take the drastic step.
