The victim was taken for a second medical test at JJ Hospital on Thursday.

“The medical report does not mean she was not raped. We have other evidence to nail the accused,” said Senior Police Inspector Samadhan Dhanedar of Sakinaka police station.

The Sakinaka police on Sunday registered a case of rape against nine people, including the victim’s cousin, for allegedly raping her for two years.

Four of the accused were arrested on the same day, including a 71-year-old neighbour, Jamunaprasad Sharma. The girl stayed with her aunt’s family, who runs a small eatery from the home.

The police on Thursday received the medical test report of the girl, which was conducted at Nagpada police hospital.

The report also suggests that the police get the victim examined for psychological trauma.

Another senior official, on condition of anonymity, said their investigation would get a boost once the prime accused, Dhaval Bapat, is arrested.

“Bapat was the one who started it all and was at the centrestage of the entire crime.”

The officials are also in the processes of analysing the mobile phone records of all the accused to find any clue of their involvement.
