The players, with concerned looks, were anxious to gather the latest information about the situation while returning from their practice. Three bomb blasts hit the Indian commercial capital of Mumbai on Wednesday evening.

“It’s very sad wherever it happens, whether in an Indian city or outside of India. It’s a sad event. Hopefully we will see such things don’t happen in the future. It’s really a sad day. But at the same time Mumbai has shown great resilience in the past whenever such things have happened. We are really hopeful that they will show the same spirit again,” said skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

“We are very sad and offered prayers for the victims. The most important thing in such moments is to stay united,” said Sreesanth.

One senior official felt it would be better to ignore such gruesome incidents. “They (the terrorists) thrive in getting publicity, it is what they aim to achieve, get noticed and create panic. It is better if their cowardly acts are completely ignored,” he said.
