Air passengers travelling without check-in baggage can now skip the long queues at the Mumbai airport. From September 1, the Mumbai airport operator has scrapped the procedure wherein passengers, who had opted for a web check-in, had to get printouts of their boarding cards stamped at the airline check-in counters.

Such passengers can now directly head for the security check with a printout of their boarding card.
The move is likely to save time for frequent fliers, who usually travel light, and will also shorten check-in queues at the Mumbai airport, which is the second busiest in the country after New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport.
“The initiative has particularly benefited frequent business class fliers who travel during the peak hours,” said a Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) spokesperson.
