The accused, Lal Sahu alias Raju, who is in his early twenties, was arrested from Bihar, where he had gone into hiding.

Sahu committed the theft at Moinuddin Achwa’s residence when the former had gone to Mahabaleshwar on a four-day vacation in June. Achwa had asked Sahu to come along, but he chose to stay back under the pretext of being ill.

On his return, Achwa realised he had been robbed and lodged a complaint with the Khar police.
