Dossa files undertaking, says he won’t get violent

The special court, however, is yet to act on Dossa’s undertaking and pass an order. “The court has accepted the undertaking on record. We are awaiting further directions,” said Rizwan Merchant, Dossa's lawyer.

Dossa, an alleged close aide of don Dawood Ibrahim, was charge sheeted on October 21 by the crime branch for injuring Salem in jail.

A case of attempt to murder was registered against Dossa.

He was later booked under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 506 (criminal intimidation).

The case pertains to an incident, which took place on July 24, 2010, when Dossa allegedly attacked Salem inside Arthur Road Jail, following which a case of attempt to murder was registered against him at the NM Joshi Marg police station.
