Transport authorities have revoked the driving license of lawyer Janhavi Gadkar, who was involved in a drink driving accident, in which two people were killed, in June. She has been asked to deposit her license with the the Wadala regional transport office (RTO).

The Chembur-based corporate lawyer had crashed her Audi into a taxi while driving under the influence of alcohol on the Eastern Freeway, killing the taxi driver and one of the passengers.
Regional transport officer of Wadala, BA Aajri, said the decision was taken after they received a response from Gadkar to a show-cause notice. According to RTO sources, in her reply to the show-cause notice, Gadkar had denied the charges against her and requested that no action be taken.
Aajri, however, said Gadkar can appeal against their decision to the transport commissioner within 30 days.
