“We have procured the closed camera television (CCTV) footage, where the duo is seen entering the college premises and walking towards the floor where the exams were held. They carried books so that people don’t suspect their moves. In the CCTV footage, they are seen stopping outside a classroom and picking up one bag each,” said Vijay Hatiskar,inspector, Malad police station.

The Malad police registered a case of theft on Tuesday.

While the police are yet to establish their identity, the officials said they have advised the college management not to let anyone enter the premises without verifying their credentials.

Investigations revealed there was no security guard at the college entrance to check students’ identity cards.

The police said this is the first incident where someone has entered a college and committed a theft.
