A golf-cart will now ferry senior citizens and physically handicapped people at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST). The Central Railway (CR) started this battery-operated car service for passengers of outstation trains.

This cart costing Rs 4.5 lakh, can transport four people with small luggage to the bogie. “We will be launching it at other major stations like Dadar and Kurla Terminus after gauging the success of this car at CST,” said CR general manager, B. Modgil.
The cart has been provided for free by an agency called Shristi Communications. They will be earning by way of advertisements, for which, Airtel has currently tied up.
Passengers who want to avail the service can call the helpline number 9004292222. If the cart is already ferrying, the passenger will have to wait for his or her turn. The CR will introduce another cart at CST within a few days.
