When the police arrested a former Army jawan for brandishing a sword in public, they were shocked to find three live grenades in his Kannad residence, 60 km from Aurangabad.

On January 9, Gulab Sonawane, who has several cases of robbery against him, was reportedly wandering on the streets with a sword.
The police arrested him and later searched his house.
“During our search, we found two hand grenades and a suspicious item, which the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad later identified as a grenade,” said Police Inspector A.T. Pawar of the Kannad police station.
They are interrogating him to find out the source of the grenades.
Sonawane, who hails from Ahmednagar district, had moved to Kannad 10 years ago.
Sonawane has been remanded to police custody till January 15.
