The body of a deputy general manager from Vodafone Chennai, who had come to the city two days ago for training, was found in the swimming pool of a five-star at Lower Parel.

The police don’t suspect any foul play.
On Wednesday, Indumati Subramaniam’s (40) body was found floating in the pool at the ITC Grand Maratha at 7 pm, confirmed Amitabh Gupta, additional commissioner of police (west region). “No foul play that is suspected. An accidental death report has been registered,” Gupta said.
Subramaniam was visiting Mumbai with a 10-member team from the Chennai branch, said S.N. Choudhary, deputy commissioner of police (zone VIII).
She was only person from her team to have booked into the Grand Maratha for three days.
According to hotel staff at the lobby, the two lifeguards had warned Subramaniam from using the pool as it was raining heavily, but she still insisted on going for a swim.
The lifeguards were in the lobby and were unaware of when she drowned.
