After three days of scant rains across the city, Mumbaiites witnessed heavy downpour on Friday that got commuters waiting for delayed trains, flight go-arounds, and water-logging in many areas.

In less than a week, in just 12 hours - 8.30am to 8.30pm - the suburbs recorded 91.5mm rain while south Mumbai received 32.4mm rain.
On June 9, the suburbs had received 88.4mm during the same 12-hour period.
Between 8.30am on Thursday and 8.30am on Friday, Santacruz recorded 16.2mm rain, while Colaba recorded 11.4mm rain.
Weathermen have forecast heavy rainfall on Saturday.
"A combination of off-shore trough along the west coast and a low-pressure area over Chhattisgarh that is moving in the north-west direction is responsible for the heavy rain," said VK Rajeev, director, western region, India Meteorological Department.
"The weak monsoon currents have also got res-activated."
