The Shiv Sena wants a much-delayed Samyukta Maharashtra museum at Shivaji Park to be opened to public by the end of next month.

Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray had planned for the state-of-the-art museum, constructed to commemorate the Samyukta (undivided) Maharashtra movement, to be opened on or before May 1 this year. But the authorities will miss the deadline because of inordinate delay.
Following Hindustan Times report on the same, mayor Shraddha Jadhav and civic standing committee chairman Rahul Shewale asked civic officials and consultants to speed up the work. “The work was halted for a while because of legal and technical problems,” said Shewale.
On April 30, 2010, the Sena chief had inaugurated the partially done museum as part of the state’s golden jubilee celebration.
