Not just the staff of Probace, but those working with the companies in the vicinity, too, were injured in the explosion. The blast has left a 25-ft-deep trench in the compound.

Kavita Bhure, 23, one of the injured who is a resident of Kalyan, said, “We were packing medicine tablets when the incident took place. A glass sheet came crashing down. I suffered injuries to my hands and legs and have got stitches on my head.”
“We were too shocked. We waited for a while before seeking medical help. My mother has asked me to quit this job,” she said.
Asmita Kharade, a resident of Dombivli MIDC said, “The factory is just 100-m away from our house. The window panes in our house are shattered. We plan to hold a meeting and discuss about the demand for compensation. The factory owners need to take the responsibility of the incident. It’s high time the authorities concerned took legal action against them, failing which we might hold a protest.”
