Despite allegations that Gautam Vora is “lying to and misleading” the police, Viveka Babajee’s family said it will not press any charges against him.

The family’s spokesperson, Dale Bhagwagar, said the family will wait for investigations to be completed. “If investigations reveal that there was a conspiracy or suspicion in her death then the family will take action,” Bhagwagar said.
The Khar police have taken Viveka’s mother Dayawanti’s statement twice and have also spoke to other members of the family.
“We are investigating the matter. Only after we have taken everybody’s statements we will be in a position to comment,” said Senior Inspector Mangesh Pote. Viveka’s mother and one of her sisters have said they will not return home to Mauritius until they find out what led to Viveka’s suicide.
“If the investigations reveal that Vora is not involved and is not concerned with Viveka’s suicide, the family will go back to Mauritius,” Bhagwagar said.
