“The highlight of the festival is the street fest, aptly called ‘Unplugged’, which will showcase a fantasy world of dreams and nightmares, with the use of rainbow colours,” said Leila Tayebaly, section curator, street fest, adding that the festival

will have no loud speakers, but will not be devoid of any excitement.

“The Bombay high court ban on the use of loudspeakers at Rampart Row was a huge blow to our committee, no doubt; but we have only used it to our advantage, to provide Mumbaiites with a visual delight,” said Jamsheed Kanga, member, Kala Ghoda Association.

This year, the venues have been juggled and visual arts have taken precedence over high decibel events.

From open-air concerts to traditional Indian dance recitals; a heritage walk around south Mumbai to the screenings of award-winning films — the festival organisers have ensured a “larger than life” experience for children and parents alike.

“Keeping in mind the theme of the festival — ‘One World’ — we have tried to showcase different cultural experiences right from the tiny pockets of India to international sections of Spain,” said Pallavi Sahney Sharma, member, festival team. “Kala Ghoda has always been a magnet for creative talent and this year around, we have something for everybody,” she added.
