Finnish national drugged, robbed in south Mumbai

The police from MRA Marg police station, where the FIR was registered, are on the lookout for the conman.

Tedo Isko Christian Simone, an artist, had come to India on April 6. “After landing in India, Simone visited Nainital and Goa, before coming to Mumbai. On April 25, he reached Mumbai. On April 26, he decided see south Mumbai,” said Ashok Jagdale, senior inspector, MRA Marg police station.

According to the complaint, when Simone reached Kala Ghoda, a man named Raju introduced himself as a guide and offered his services.

“After a long conversation, Raju gained Simone’s trust. While they were roaming around in Kala Ghoda, the guide offered him a soft drink. After drinking it, Simone started feeling dizzy,” Jagdale said.

In a similar incident earlier this month, a Chinese student was allegedly sedated, kidnapped and robbed of valuables worth more than Rs2 lakh in south Mumbai. The student, Ven Go Vu, was found at a bus stop near Worli sea face.

“There is a possibility that a gang of conmen, who target foreign tourists, is on the loose in south Mumbai,” Jagdale said.
