One fireman was killed and two seriously injured while battling a major fire that broke out in a shopping complex in Mumbai early Friday, a fire brigade official said.

The fire broke out around 5.30 am in the popular Goyal Shopping Complex, opposite the Borivli railway station in northwest Mumbai.
The blaze quickly engulfed shops, restaurants and other business establishments there.
One fire official - assistant station head Pradeepkumar S. Zagade - was killed while battling the blaze.
Two of his colleagues - Vasant Dundgekar and Manoj S. Mahadik - sustained serious burn injuries and have been admitted to the Bhagwati Hospital, the official said.
Damages worth several million rupees have been reported in the blaze, the cause of which is being investigated.
This is the second instance of a fireman losing his life while battling a fire in Mumbai.
On Oct 18 last year, six firemen were choked to death in a fire in a high-rise in Thane.
