From platform number four of the Mumbai Central station on Western Railway (WR), the yellow-red coloured double-decker train started chugging towards Ahmedabad at 2.20 pm. There was tight security on the platform as many people had come to see the train.

WR had planned to inaugurate it on August 15, but technical reasons delayed it. Finally, Bharat Singh Solanki, state railway minister, flagged off the train at Ahmedabad railway station on Wednesday morning.

“It’s really beautiful,” said Jasbir Singh, a taxi driver, who came to see the train.

“I really like the exteriors and the interior of it. Even interior arrangement and facilities are nice. The plus point is that it has green toilets,” said Jayeshbhai Gale, resident of Kalbadevi.
