You may have to keep that pomfret or Bombay Duck off your plate for a while.

Fish samples collected by the civic body from across the city in the wake of the oil leak off the coast have been found contaminated.
Samples obtained from Sassoon Dock, Sewri and Bhaucha Dhakka were contaminated, the Directorate-General of Shipping stated on Wednesday. The lots — weighing 500 kg in all — from which these samples were found have been dumped.
The BMC will collect more samples from markets across Mumbai and send them for tests at its laboratory. On Wednesday, fish from four markets – Dadar, Borivli, Kandivli and Fort – was sent for examination.
“Results of the tests will be known in a week,” said Deepak Kamat, assistant commissioner, markets department.
