The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) said searches were conducted at Sinha’s homes in Mumbai, New Delhi, and Patna. “The searches have led to the recovery of incriminating documents, which are under scrutiny,” a CBI press statement said.

CBI said the searches revealed that Sinha and his family own immovable properties in Noida, Mayur Vihar in New Delhi, Danapur and Kankerbaug in Patna, and Mira Road in Thane.

He had two bank lockers in Patna where all the gold jewellery was kept.

The CBI has frozen five bank accounts belonging to the family. One of the accounts showed a balance of Rs21.7 lakh.

On Tuesday, the CBI had raided Sinha’s homes after receiving information regarding him having assets and properties disproportionate to his known sources of income.

The CBI said they are trying to determine the value of the jewellery that was found.
