The state Forensic Science Laboratory at Kalina has failed to retrieve crucial evidence and data from the phone recovered from journalist Jigna Vora, an accused in the murder of senior scribe J Dey.

The prosecution had recently submitted reports from the Kalina laboratory in connection with the six mobile phones recovered from Vora when she was arrested.
The report states that it had been mentioned that the scientific officer had not been able to retrieve the deleted data.
In the report they have also stated that there was ‘no supporting tool available to extract deleted data from the mobile phone’.
Crime branch sources revealed that this data, which has not been retrieved, includes text messages sent by Vora to her friends before and after the murder and also the messages sent by her to Dey.
The prosecution on Monday during the hearing of Vora’s bail application stated that a lot of data and many messages that she had sent were deleted by her and the laboratory has not been able to retrieve the same from the phones.
