The most diligent was Eknath Gaikwad from South-Central Mumbai, who attended Parliament on 156 days, marking 99% attendance.

Similarly, he also raised the maximum number of questions in each session of Parliament, with 426 questions, followed by South Mumbai MP Milind Deora, who asked 274 questions. The national average is 135 questions per session.

The poorest attendance — 96 days or 61% — was recorded by North Central MP Priya Dutt. As a result, she also raised the least number of questions, a mere 66 per session.

Another parameter in the performance report is the number of questions raised in parliamentary sessions about issues pertaining to agriculture, environment, health, home affairs, urban development, etc.

“Sometimes, because of work in our constituency or personal issues, I may have not attended the sessions. But the number is not as low as mentioned in the report. I could not attend the House due to my brother’s demise,” said Sanjay Dina Patil, the MP from North-East Mumbai, whose attendance was recorded as 130 days or 82%, the poorest after Dutt.
