At the Santacruz weather station, the maximum temperature was three degrees above normal while the minimum temperature of 17.6 degree Celsius was a degree above normal.

In the island city, people sweated more, as the humidity was 46%. At the Colaba weather station, the maximum temperature recorded was 32 degree Celsius that was two degrees above normal and the minimum temperature was 21.5 degree Celsius.

The effect of the dry and hot easterly wind faded a bit also helping in bringing down the temperature, officials at the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

“The sea breeze settled at 11am on Wednesday. The increase in the moisture content reduced the impact of the easterly winds that bring in dry and hot air. This pattern should continue for the next few days thought the temperature will not fall much,” said Bishwombhar Singh, director, IMD, Colaba.
