"The decision about extending the recalibration dates will only be decided after receiving the transport commissioner's report about it on Friday," said SK Sharma, transport secretary.

AL Quadros, Mumbai Taximen's Union leader, said they have asked for an extension of 20 days, till December 15, for recalibration of taxi e-meters and January 15, 2012 for mechanical meters.

However sources feel the government might consider extending the date only by one or two weeks.
