Exercising his powers as Chancellor of all universities in the state, the governor directed the registrar of the university to submit daily reports on day-to-day functioning of

the health university, including decisions taken by various authorities and bodies of

the university directly to him, the Raj Bhavan announced here.

The registrar has been asked to seek appropriate directions from the governor on all relevant matters.

The Nashik-based Maharashtra University of Health Sciences is the governing body for health science-related syllabi including the MBBS.

The vice-chancellor of health university Dr Mrudula Phadke retired in December 2009.

Dr Nilima Kshirsagar was appointed as acting vice-chancellor for six months till June.

As per the rule, she could not be given extension beyond six months.
