Kashinath Tapuriah (right), aide of Pune businessman Hasan Ali Khan, was remanded in judicial custody till April 15, for his alleged involvement in money laundering activities. As the courts were on leave, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Saturday produced Tapuriah at the residence of additional principal judge KP Purohit, who remanded him in judicial custody.

“We told the judge that the ED did not need Tapuriah’s custody at the moment and he may be sent to judicial custody,” said advocate Sandeep Shinde, appearing for the agency.
Tapuriah had allegedly acted as an advisor to Khan helping him in his money laundering activities. The ED claimed to have seized evidence, which showed transactions between Tapuriah and Khan, and established links of the duo with international arms dealer Adnan Khashoggi.
