Heavy rains alongwith thunderstorms lashed Mumbai and its surrounding areas on Tuesday disrupting the movement of traffic during the evening peak hours.

According to TV reports, overhead wire snapped near Chinchpokli station disrupting the Central Railway services.

On Monday, at 37 degree Celsius the city had witnessed the hottest day of September in the past 64 years, the Indian Meteorological Department said.
