A diamond merchant lodged a complaint alleging that diamonds and valuables worth more than Rs 1.75 crore were missing from his Napean Sea Road home on Friday.

The Malabar Hill police said Aatish Nahar (56) and his family, who live on the third-floor of Tanya Heights on Napean Sea Road, were out for work at the time of the incident.
Their two domestic helps have gone missing after the incident. Police suspect them to be behind the robbery.
The stolen items include diamonds worth Rs 1.75 crore, cell phones worth Rs 5,000 and Rs 25,000 cash.
“The incident probably took place between 1 pm and 4.30 pm when there was no one at home,” said an officer from Malabar police station, requesting anonymity, as the matter is still under investigation.
Officials said the two domestic helps, identified only as Maharaj and Rajiv, were alone in the flat.
Investigators have launched a hunt for the two accused and also questioned Nahar’s relatives on Saturday. Sources said that at least two teams have been formed to crack the case.
Police have refused to reveal the details of the duo and whether their records were submitted to the police station when the took up job with Nahars.
“We are working on certain clues and will arrest them soon,” said Additional Commissioner of Police (south region) K. Padmanabhan.
