MUMBAI: The civic body has amended certain concepts before publishing the revised draft of the Development Plan (DP) 2034. The civic body has also added five provisions to the Development Control Regulations (DCR) 2034 that were missing from the existing DCR 1991.

Officials are likely to reduce the area of Aarey Milk Colony proposed to be reserved for a zoo. The BMC planned to reserve 250 hectares for the zoo but anticipating criticism from activists, the area is likely to be reduced considerably, said sources.

There are going to be changes in the provisions related to floor space index (FSI). Last month, civic chief Ajoy Mehta had announced a standard floor space index (FSI) of 5 will be allowed for construction of hotels on independent plots, irrespective of the grade of the hotel. In a U-turn, the civic body has now proposed that the FSI will depend on the size of the plot.

Independent plots will be granted FSI of 3 to 5 depending on their size, said civic officials.
