Juvenile arrested in Mumbai for sodomy

The Mumbai crime branch arrested a 17-year-old for sodomising a 12-year-old boy in the bushes along the monorail line in Wadala TT on Tuesday. According to crime branch officials, the accused dragged the victim into the bushes when the victim had come to the spot to take some soil.

Around 3.30pm, the victim came to the spot near monorail gate number 2, when the accused accosted him and pulled him up for taking soil. He then asked the victim to bring his bag which was hung on a nearby tree. When the victim went to fetch the bag, the accused gagged and dragged him and sodomised him.

“Following the incident, the accused fled from the spot. When the victim’s father reached the spot, he spotted the accused leaving. A case was registered with the Wadala TT police station and we then got a description of the accused,” said a crime branch officer.

The officials laid a trap at the spot and the accused turned up the following day and was apprehended. Investigators said that the accused is a drug addict and lives on the streets. He was under the influence of drugs when the incident took place, officials said.
