Leaders of the Swatantra Bharat Paksha and the Shetakari Sanghatana on Monday met Governor K Sankaranarayanan, demanding his intervention on farmers’ issues like lifting of the ban on cotton export.

A 14-member delegation presented a memorandum of demands of farmers.
The delegation, led by former MLA Wamanrao Chatap and state President of Shetakari Sanghatana Ravi Devang, demanded lifting of ban on cotton export, removing ban on the export of non-basmati varieties of rice and lifting of ban on the export of sugar.
