Students can now log on to the website, fyjc.org.in, and practice filling the form online.

To log on to the website, students will have to type in their application identity number and password provided in the information booklet that they have been given by their schools or guidance centre.

Other rules and instructions regarding the application process are also available online.

The online admissions will start after the SSC results are declared.

“Once the results come out the system will automatically display all the data for SSC students when they log in, but non-SSC board students will have to type in their results,” said N B Chavan, assistant director of education, Mumbai region.

The government will be conducting the online admissions process with technical partner Maharashtra Knowledge Commission Limited.

The education department had earlier said that it would be conducting a second set of training sessions for schools and students in June.

This is the second year when admissions to junior colleges are being conducted online. Last year the process was marred by a series of glitches.

Some of the problems faced were that the server crashed, high scoring students did not get colleges of their choice and some were allocated colleges that were different from the medium of instruction they had chosen.
