Lok Satta Party (LSP) launched its election campaign title ‘Ab bas’ on Friday for 2012 Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) civic polls.

The party president Dr Jayaprakash Narayan and sitting MLA from Kukatpally assembly constituency in Andhra Pradesh explained their political agenda, policy reforms they aim to make, the candidate’s selection process and party symbol. “We have decided to keep or party symbol as whistle. The whistle would represent whistleblowers,” said Narayan.

The LSP prime political agenda is to enforce Nagar Raj Bill in the corporation, which they claim would increase citizen participation in civic governance.

“We would form ward committees in each of the 227 wards and give them funds and functionaries to execute civic work. These ward committees will have 2 members from each polling booth,” said Surendra Kumar Srivastava, President, Lok Satta Party, Maharahtra.“We would start this mechanism in the wards where our candidate wins. If we win maximum seats we will push BMC ruling party to enforce this policy across city.”

The party assured of developing citizen charter and call center to address public grievances
