A 22-year-old man was allegedly killed by four men after he confronted them for eve-teasing his sister. The accused were arrested on June 28. “The four have been remanded in police custody until July 8,” said Police Sub-Inspector Subhash Chandra Markand.

Abdul Ahmed, a resident of Govandi, had slapped Aqueel Shaikh (23), on June 28, for eve-teasing his sister. To take revenge from Ahmed, Shaikh along with his brothers Shakeel Shaikh (30) and brother-in-law, Mohammed Iqbal Khan stopped Ahmed in Bainganwadi on June 28 and beat him up for slapping Shaikh.
The four accused then handed him over to the police saying that they had caught Ahmed stealing money from their pockets.
The police detained Ahmed and asked his father to take him home. Ahmed was admitted to Rajawadi Hospital where he was operated upon June 28. Ahmed was in the ICU and died on Saturday. “We had arrested Shaikh and his relatives on the charges of attempt to murder and assault on June 28 but we added murder charges after the death of Ahmed,” said Markand.
