A second-year Commerce student on Tuesday lodged a complaint claiming that a 26-year-old Borivli resident had raped her over two years after promising marriage.

Police have booked Pradeep Bakchandani, who owns a sari shop at Charkop, for rape and cheating and are looking for him. Bakchandani had allegedly also clicked objectionable photographs of the victim and used them to blackmail her, said senior Inspector Bhagwan Chate.
The 21-year-old victim, who lives in Charkop, met Bakchandani in 2008 at his shop, Harsh Saree Centre. She gave him her cellphone number and he would often call and text her and a few days later he proposed to her.
“She told that Bakchandani took her to his aunt’s 13th floor flat at Prathamesh building in Borivli, spiked her drink and clicked objectionable pictures of her. He then used them to blackmail her and raped her several times between 2008-July 2010," said an officer. htc
