A 45year old unidentified man was found hanging inside an empty local train at Thane railway station on Sunday evening.

It is the second such incident in two days. On Friday night, a woman's body was found inside the general compartment of an empty train at the Kalwa train yard. The police are yet to ascertain the identity of both victims.
The man's body was found in the second compartment from the motorman's cabin as the empty train arrived at platform no. 4 at Thane around 4pm on Sunday.
“The man was found hanging by a rope from the handle rod by a commuter, who informed the police. We have sent the body for post-mortem and have registered a case of accidental death,” said HS Jadhav, senior police inspector of the Thane Government Railway Police (GRP).
The police found railway tickets and a card with the name and number of Ram Teke on the man’s body. However, when they contacted Teke, his family could not identify the deceased.
