Man let off in murder case

The sessions court has acquitted a man charged of killing his wife after the defence pointed out contradictory statements by the two witnesses.

The sessions court has acquitted a man charged of killing his wife after the defence pointed out contradictory statements by the two witnesses.

A resident of the Maruti Nagar area, Triza Farnendes, fell off her balcony in February. She later died at St George Hospital. In the accidental death register (ADR) report, the police said a drunk Triza accidentally fell off the balcony.

Later, Jagdish Shinde, from the same area, told the police that Triza was pushed off the balcony by her husband James (39). The police arrested James.

During the trial, Shinde said he had approached the police after some women in the area asked Shinde to do so. The court acquitted James.
