Man who duped people posing as cong leader’s son arrested

Police said he used to introduce himself as Malay Dwivedi, the youngest son of the politician, get into high-profile circles and use various methods to dupe the people he met there.

Interestingly, during the Commonwealth Games in Delhi in 2010, Dwivedi had even called up former Congress leader Suresh Kalmadi and got seven passes to the India-Pakistan hockey match, saying he was Dwivedi’s son. At the time he was arrested by the Delhi police. He then became active in Mumbai for the past two years.

Joint commissioner of police (crime) Himanshu Roy confirmed the arrest and said they were investigating whom he had cheated in the city. He was arrested by a team led by additional commissioner of police Niket Kaushik and inspector Nandkumar Gopale from a building in Andheri’s Lokhandwala Complex.
