MBA aspirants meet DTE head, complain about MAH-CET errors

The Directorate of Technical Education has received more than 100 complaints from management aspirants about glitches during the online Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MAH-CET) that was held on March 14 and 15.

The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) has received more than 100 complaints from management aspirants about glitches during the online Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MAH-CET) that was held on March 14 and 15.

On Tuesday, after a group of candidates visited the DTE office to complain about problems faced during the exam, officials said they will review the questions asked in the test. However, many aspirants want the test to be conducted again.

SK Mahajan, director, DTE, said, “We received more than 100 complaints by Tuesday and a few students met us at the DTE office. After a thorough investigation, we will come up with a decision in the next couple of days. However, no re-test will be conducted.”

Officials said results are expected to be declared on March 25.

A candidate, who appeared for the exam from a Kandivli centre, met DTE officials on Tuesday. “There are just 300-400 seats available at the top management colleges in the city and nearly 60,000 students are aspiring to bag seats. The DTE should conduct a re-test to get fair results and should make sure that we do not suffer due to the goof-ups,” said the student.

Candidates said problems included repetition of answer options, spelling errors, interface glitches, incomplete questions and power cuts in some centres.
