The metropolitan magistrate court on Tuesday passed an order restraining the media from showing the CCTV footage of the July 13 blasts.

The order was passed after the Maharashtra State Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) moved the court on Monday claiming that telecasting of the footage may hamper the investigation.
Magistrate NJ Shende observed in his order: “If the identity of witnesses is disclosed to the public at large, it may hamper the smooth investigation of the case and may cause threat to such persons.”
Shende said that safeguarding the lives of witnesses was part of the provisions enumerated under Section 44 of Unlawful Activities Prevention Act. The order came after various news channels showed the CCTV footage from the three blasts sight. Twenty people were killed and over 130 were injured in three blasts that took place at Zaveri Bazaar, Opera House and Dadar on July 13.
