Mega block hassles CR, WR commuters

Railway commuters had a tough time travelling, owing to the mega block on the Central and Western Railway (WR) on Sunday.

There was a mega block on the down fast line between Thane and Kalyan stations on the main corridor of the CR. The harbour line services between CST-Kurla section and Wadala-Bandra section were blocked.

While the WR services were running 5-10 minutes behind schedule, the CR services were delayed by 20-30 minutes.

“A five-hour mega block was imposed on the main and harbour lines of the CR. It got over at the scheduled time,” said AK Singh, public relations officer, CR.

The fast corridor between Mumbai Central and Mahim stations of the WR was shut.
